An equestrian academy

«Academia is a collective term for the scientific and cultural community engaged in higher education and research, taken as a whole»

Our centre is therefore an academy in the sense that we use the same methods of studying as one would do in such a place. We investigate, ask questions, and listen before we make ourselves a conclusion. This is the way we want our students to function too. We don’t want them to do what we say because we say so; we want them to try the method and se that it works before.

”Many times we might have thought, why doesn’t my horse understand me? Why isn’t he attentive to my aids? Why doesn’t he perform the exercise as I know he can? And then we come to the conclusion that the horse, who we had so much hope for does not measure up. That he is not apt for the dressage. I say that in 99 per cent of the cases it is us, that are not apt for the exercise. We are the guilty ones. Guilty for not being able to listen to the messages that the horse gives us. If we can cease our sensitivity and the signals the horse is giving us and observe what is going on, we will soon realise that the horse is always sending us all necessary information for our continuing of his training.

All roads lead to Rome, but only one to the sublime riding. That road is full of compensation, love, dedication and respect towards our horse. Starting from here, we begin to feel more and more secure that we are doing the right thing and sooner than you think you’ll be rewarded with higher results. Our horse now understands us and compensates us and we can adjust the riding after the messages the horse is sending us. The errors are necessary for development but in Artequus we help you to make your faults into solutions!”
